Humans spend around a third of their lives sleeping, and need that time to be peaceful and restful in order for our bodies to recover properly from the day before.
Many of us find our mattresses a little too soft, or a bit too firm, too flat or too high. Sleeping on a mattress which doesn’t suit your body shape or size can cause aches and pains in the back, neck and joints. Having an adjustable bed is likely to make you sleep more comfortable, ease pain in your joints and give you a deeper, more rejuvenating sleep.
Adjustable beds, however, come with a price tag. For those of us who can’t quite stretch their recession lightened purses to that much, there are compromises available.
The Manual Bed Back Lifter provides a solution for resting in your bed. It means that you will no longer have to stuff cushions and pillows behind you to lift your torso and head, as it is designed to offer a slanted surface on which to sleep or rest. It allows you to lean back on the bed, without having to be horizontal, and is adjustable so that you can be almost sitting, or almost flat.

Most of spend about a third of our lives sleeping. That means we spend 3 out of every 9 years in our beds.
Lots of people have mattresses which are not quite as hard as they’d like, or not as soft as they’d like, or a bed which is a little higher than preferable, or other small imperfections.
Having a bed that suits your body shape, and that can change position as you wish to change position will make a massive difference to your health. It will mean that your joints aren’t strained, and your muscles are fully supported, and that you are comfortable throughout the night.
This will mean that symptoms of swollen joints, tender muscles and backache will go down, and that you will be much more likely to sleep through the night, rather than waking up a few times to change position and attempt to get comfortable again.
Adjustable beds provide this, as you can change their shape to suit you. You can usually rise up the head of the mattress and recline the foot, maybe with a dip and rise in the middle for your bottom and knees.
Some adjustable beds are electric, so you can change their position via remote control whilst you’re lying on it for extra ease and minimum disruption.

Each person has a unique skeleton and muscle make up, so we all need something different from our bed. This is the reason why there are so many different ones to choose from.
Some beds are flat mattresses that just lower and raise, others can dip in the middle, raise the back and lower or raise the feet. There are beds that can do all of this through remote control.
There are adjustable beds from small single size (2’6”) to super kingsize (6’) and all sizes in between.
Some beds split into two (double or above) so that you and your partner can have their own side exactly as they wish.
Adjustable beds are proven to help our bodies sleep peacefully. They are also medically proven to relieve muscle and joint ache, prevent insomnia and promote overall health and well-being.
We spend about a third of our lives sleeping, which means that we really should take care of ourselves during that time. Choosing the right mattress and the right bed will make such a difference.
Adjustable beds, particularly, help with any muscle ache as they are – as the name suggests – adjustable to which ever degree you like. You can lie perfectly flat, or be almost sitting, or almost any stage in between.

Most people think that with adjustable beds, the mattress is the most important aspect. This is only partly true, because the base and the adjustable features also make a massive difference to the bed’s comfort, quality and ease-of-use. However, when choosing an adjustable bed, it is important to get the mattress right before considering any other features.
Ideally, you need a comfortable mattress that suits your needs and your body shape, as well as one that supports you and helps to relieve any physical conditions you may suffer from.
The following is a quick guide to the main types of adjustable bed mattresses available:
• Coil spring - These are the most common types of mattress available. They are made using coiled wire springs –either one main length of wire or many small, individual springs – which support your body. The most comfortable and firm ones will contain more springs made from thicker wire, but it is essentially down to personal preference.
• Pocket sprung– This type is one step up from a coil spring mattress. It still consists of coiled wire springs, but each is encased separately in a fabric pocket. Due to this, each spring can move independently, which makes the mattress as a whole more able to adjust to your body shape for maximum comfort.
• Latex – These adjustable bed mattresses are hypoallergenic, anti-bacterial, easy to clean, and will fully adjust to the contours of your body. Some varieties are even breathable, which means they can help you to maintain a comfortable temperature while in bed.

Not getting a comfortable night’s sleep can be really frustrating; particularly when you are suffering from medical problems.
People who struggle to get comfortable could be suffering with conditions such as arthritis, back pain or rheumatism.
Back pain is a problem which a huge number of people have to deal with all of the time. Sometimes back pain can be very painful and can mean that it is difficult to continue to go about your life as normal. Other people suffer from uncomfortable back pain which is constantly with them and can therefore make getting a good night’s sleep much more difficult.
Although back pain is usually very difficult to deal with and also difficult to treat, there are measures you can take in order to improve your situation and make your life much more comfortable.
One important step to take is to invest in an adjustable bed. Adjustable beds can be changed into various different positions to suit your comfort and your needs. This could really help to ease the pain and discomfort that you may normally experience at night time.
Flat beds can be very restrictive, but adjustable beds have the ability to mould themselves to you and your body shape meaning a good night’s sleep is much more likely.
